What is Agentforce for Developers?

Agentforce for Developers is an AI-powered developer tool that’s available as an easy-to-install Visual Studio Code extension. Agentforce for Developer is enabled by default in your Salesforce orgs.

Available in: Developer, Enterprise, Partner Developer, Performance, and Unlimited Editions.

Agentforce for Developers Set Up

1. Prerequisites

Before getting started, make sure you have all the necessary tools.

  1. Visual Studio Code
  2. Salesforce Extension for Visual Studio.

2. How to get started with Agentforce for Developers.

What you need is to install the Salesforce Extension Pack (Expanded) exception package in your VsCode. Which will install Agentforce for Developers extension for you automatically.

3. Enable Agentforce

Agentforce for Developer is enabled by default in your Salesforce orgs. But you can enable and disable from below screen.

4. Authorize your org.

Once you Authorize your Salesforce org in Vs. Code. Then you can see the agent option in Salesforce.

Feature of Agentforce for Developers

1. Multi-Turn Chat with Agentforce Dev Assistant

You can chat with the Dev Assistant while working on VsCode. Tell them what you need, and get back answers.

2. Inline Code Completions

Use inline autocompletion to receive suggestions as you write Apex and LWC code automatically.

3. Test Case Generation

With the help of Agentforce for Developer, you can generate Apex unit tests for your code. You can use /test command to generate the test method.

4. History Panel

History panel will show all prompt recently created.

5. Explain Code

Use the built-in command /explain to get the code explanation.

6. Write Docs

If you want to generate the code documentation then use /Document command.
