Top Salesforce Summer ’25 Features for Admins: 5 Updates You Need to Know

Salesforce is always improving, and the Summer ’25 release is full of exciting updates that make admin tasks easier and faster. In this blog, we’ll cover the top 5 features you need to know about. These updates will help you simplify your workflows, improve your setup, and give you more control over Salesforce. Let’s dive in! Join us to learn about the Top 5 Salesforce Summer ’25 Features for Admins.

Before, if you wanted to get related records in Flow, you had to use many Get Records elements. It made flows long and hard to manage. Now in Summer ’25, you can use just one Get Records element to get related data like child records at once.

What’s New

You can now select related objects (like Contacts and opportunities) when using Get Records in Flow. This works in screen flows, auto-launched flows, and template-triggered prompt flows.

Use Case

Let’s say you want to email all Contacts related to an Account.
Earlier:

  • You first got the Account
  • Then added another Get Records to get the Contacts

Now:

  • Use one Get Records element → select Account
  • Tick “Also add related records (Beta)” → add Contacts
  • Use a Loop to go through Contacts and send emails

Why It’s Helpful:

  • Flows are shorter and easier to read
  • No need to create multiple Get Records
  • Saves time and reduces the chances of errors

2. Edit Permissions Faster in Permission Set Summary

Before, editing permissions in a permission set meant clicking through many Setup pages. In Summer ’25, you can now edit user, object, field, and custom permissions directly from the summary view of a permission set,  saving time and effort.

What’s New:

The permission set summary view now allows you to make more permission changes in one place. This improvement came from ideas shared on IdeaExchange.

Use Case:

You need to quickly give a user extra permissions in their permission set.
Earlier:

  • You had to open each permission type in Setup separately.
    Now:
  • Just open the permission set → click View Summary → make changes from there.

How to Use:

  • In Setup, select a permission set
  • Click View Summary
  • Update permissions using the available tabs

3. Easily Remove Relationships Before Deleting a Custom Object

When you try to delete a custom object, and another object (whether standard, custom, or Data Cloud DMO) has a lookup field referring to it, Salesforce now makes it easier by showing you a detailed page.

What’s New:

Instead of just showing a basic error message, you’ll now see a table listing the objects that are related to the custom object. The table shows both the Object API name and the Field API name. The Object API name is clickable, which allows you to go directly to that object and remove the relationship. If the related object is a Data Cloud DMO, you’ll get a help link to guide you through the process of removing the relationship.

How to Use:

  1. Try deleting the custom object
  2. If it has relationships, the page will show the details
  3. Click the Object API name to open the related object and remove the relationship
  4. If it’s a Data Cloud DMO, follow the provided help link to remove the relationship.

4. Use One Email Address for All Dashboard Subscription Notifications

With the Summer ’25 update, Salesforce introduces the option to designate a single organization-wide email address for all dashboard subscription notifications. Previously, notifications were sent from the email of the user who created the dashboard subscription.

 What’s New:

Now, you can ensure consistency in communication by using a fixed organization-wide email address. This reduces the risk of spoofing and makes email notifications appear more professional.

How to Set It Up:

  1. In Setup, search for Reports in the Quick Find box and choose Reports and Dashboards Settings
  2. Check the option for Enable Org-Wide Email Address for Dashboard Subscription
  3. Select your organization-wide email address from the dropdown list
  4. You can configure the email address in the Organization-Wide Addresses page in Setup

5. Feature Discovery and Setup with Salesforce Go

Salesforce now lets you easily discover and set up features from one place in Salesforce Go. You can assign user permissions, complete necessary setup steps, and track feature usage all from one spot. It also helps you explore new and unused features with access to extra resources.

What’s New:

Now, you can find and enable features within your Salesforce edition directly from the Salesforce Go interface. Whether you’re exploring new tools, learning about them, or deciding if they’re right for your organization, everything you need is right there.

How to Use:

  1. From the gear menu, select Salesforce Go
  2. On the Salesforce Go home page, choose a feature set based on your business goals or use the search to find and turn on specific features
  3. You can also view features on the Features tab
