Salesforce Summer 24 Release Notes

Salesforce Summer 24 release notes are here. Salesforce has added lots of features and updates that can be helpful for your org. As usual, there is a lot to talk about, but here is my summary of the summer 24 release.

1. Summary of User’s Permission and Access

Earlier we needed to look into each profile, permission sets for finding user’s permission and access level which took lots of clicks and efforts but now with user access summary we can see this details on user’s detail page which will save time and clicks as well.

2. Use Blank Spaces to Align Fields on Dynamic Forms-Enabled Pages

To separate fields vertically was a big problem as it makes UI less appealing but now you can use blank space to separate fields vertically inside a field section. A new blank space component helps you align fields in dynamic form field sections.

3. Fix Formula Syntax Errors with Einstein for Formulas

We all have experienced syntax errors while writing formulas but now Einstein will help you fix syntax errors and will also provide explanation for a formula.

4. Support for Five-Level Parent-to-Child Relationship SOQL Queries in Apex

Apex now supports 5 levels of parent-to-child relationship.

5. Resolve Unhandled Exceptions Faster with Additional Information in Apex Exception Emails

While writing apex code we all encounter some unhandled exceptions and we get to know about this exception via Apex Exception Emails. Now to make resolving exceptions lightning fast the emails will also include org name, username and My Domain name where exception occurred.

6. Check for Duplicates Before Creating Records in a Flow

Create record element in flow builder has got a major upgrade, the ability to match existing records by set of criteria and then deciding whether to update the matching record or skip it completely.

7. MFA Is On by Default for Direct Logins to Production Orgs 

We all know username and password no longer provide protection against cyber attacks which is why salesforce is requesting everyone to enable MFA in their orgs. Now MFA is on by default for all the new production org going live which will prevent unauthorized access to salesforce accounts.
