Salesforce Launches Idea Insights: A Smarter Way to Listen to the Community
Salesforce has officially launched Idea Insights, a new feature designed to make it easier for customers to see what’s trending across the IdeaExchange — the place where Trailblazers share, vote on, and discuss ideas to improve Salesforce.

This isn’t just another dashboard. It’s part of Salesforce’s bigger plan to make the feedback loop more open, transparent, and useful for everyone who helps shape the product.
How We Got Here
Back in 2006, Salesforce created the IdeaExchange as a simple way for users to post their ideas and vote on others. Over the years, it’s grown into a massive hub where more than 85,000 Trailblazers contribute ideas every year.
But here’s the thing — with so many products, clouds, and features now in play, the volume of feedback has exploded. Salesforce realized it needed a better way to track, prioritize, and communicate progress on community ideas.
That’s how Idea Insights was born.
What Is Idea Insights?
Idea Insights helps you see what’s new, what’s trending, and what’s already delivered — all in one place. It highlights top-voted ideas, recent updates from product managers, and the latest features that have made it into Salesforce releases.

Here’s what you can find inside:
- Top Trending Ideas: The most popular requests from the last year.
- Recently Updated Ideas: Ideas that have received comments or updates from Salesforce product managers.
- Top Open Ideas (All-Time): The big ones that have been around for a while and still have strong community support.
- Recently Delivered: A list of ideas that have made it into recent releases like Summer ’25 and Winter ’26.

Salesforce says the goal is simple — to keep the community informed and to make it easier for product teams to respond and provide updates consistently.
Highlights from Idea Insights
Let’s look at some of the standout ideas currently making waves on the platform:
Top Trending and Most Discussed Ideas
- Inline Editing for Related Lists – Still one of the most requested features (12,000+ votes). Salesforce confirmed it’s on the roadmap, but not planned for 2025.
- Bring Back Search on Salesforce Help – After removing the search bar, users pushed back hard. Salesforce heard the feedback and promised to bring search back soon.
- Sort in Matrix Report Details – This one’s being scoped for a future release.
- Cross-Object Merge Fields in Email Templates – A long-requested feature still under review.
- Default Value for Lookup Fields – Not planned for FY26, but Salesforce acknowledged it’s a top priority for many users.
Recently Delivered Features
- Clickable Flow Debug Elements – You can now jump directly to elements while debugging Flows (Winter ’26).
- Allow HTML Tags in Bot Dialogs – Open beta available in Winter ’26.
- Support Time Fields in Process Builder and Flows – Delivered in Summer ’25.
Why It Matters
Salesforce has been putting a big focus on transparency and connection. Over the past year, they’ve launched programs like:
- RoadmapExchange – lets users give feedback on upcoming features.
- Roadmap Previews – blog-style previews showing what’s coming next.
- True to the Core Deep Dives – monthly livestreams with Salesforce PMs to discuss platform roadmaps and demos.
Now, Idea Insights ties it all together. It gives every Trailblazer — admins, developers, and customers — a clearer view of what’s happening behind the scenes and what ideas are getting traction.
Salesforce’s Focus Going Forward
The next phase of IdeaExchange will center around three key goals:
- Transparency: More frequent updates on ideas and their progress.
- Connection: Closer collaboration between customers and product teams through programs like RoadmapExchange and True to the Core.
- Listening: Hosting in-person feedback sessions at Dreamin’ events and creating an IdeaExchange Customer Council to collect deeper insights.
Final Thoughts
With Idea Insights, Salesforce isn’t just giving us a new page to browse — it’s showing a real commitment to listening and acting on feedback.
Whether it’s long-awaited features like Inline Editing for Related Lists or small but impactful updates like clickable Flow debug cards, the message is clear: Salesforce wants the community to be part of the product journey.
